The Poteau Industrial Development Authority’s “Build to Suit” program played a critical role in our decision to move back to Poteau. We were partnered in a similar business in Pensacola, Florida before we decided to move back to the Poteau area. After Hurricane Ivan in September 2004, we were toying with the idea of moving back “home” and were sort of “half-hearted” in the notion.
We contacted the City of Poteau about possibly moving our businesses here. The offer to move Foamco Corporation here was so irresistible that we couldn’t turn it down. The “Build to Suit” program is a great opportunity for any business thinking of moving to this area. It has been crucial to the success of our business. Not having a lease payment for the first six months of a new business allows that money to be spent on marketing and generating sales.
Besides the “Build to Suit” program playing a key role in our decision to move back; Poteau is a great community to raise a family. The cost of living is low, the schools are great and the community truly cares about its citizens.
